Extra! Contest Entry: Horror Genre

I started this as what I thought would be a thirty minute sketch, and then it turned into an hour-thirty project. Ugh... It seems like I already really want to avoid my studying.

This is an entry for StickFreeks's contest related around her webcomic: mcwuffles.deviantart.com/journ… I'm was so glad I had an excuse to draw something in my ultra-cute style, as this is an anime themed webcomic.The pictured characters are Alexis and Xavier.

As you can probably guess from the title, I took inspiration from the horror genre. I drew a hypothetical situation where the two would visit a city where the most of the horror shows are filmed. I would imagine it would be a dangerous place, since most threats would be the kind that would creep up on them. While Xavier is taking a call from DERP, Alexis is keeping watch. I also decided to diverge from my coloring style a bit in this one, keeping with the theme. I really like horror anime/manga and noticed that they tend to have de-saturated and dark colors. I tried that out a bit while making the color scheme for this image.

The brick wall is a pexels texture that was labled for re-use with modification.

Side note: I think this will look better on monitors with high brightness.
